Black Diamond Heavies’s Bio

The Black Diamond Heavies tour internationally and base out of Chattanooga TN and Louisville KY. John Wesley Myers and Van Campbell play music rooted in the hill country blues of Mississippi with a punk ass edge. Debut record for the "part deux" Heavies recorded in Chattanooga summer 2006, release on Alive Records in 2007. Sons o' preachers and bourbon distillers, they have the honor of "Best Blues Artist by the Chattanooga Independent Artists Association. Their touring in 2007 has taken them across the US as headliners and as support for Scott H. Biram and Son Volt, to the UK and throughout Europe.

"Though they've shared the stage with quasi-hippie jammers like Gov't Mule and the North Mississippi Allstars, the Black Diamond Heavies pound harder and bathe less,... growling and spewing with as much poison as bourbon in their blood. Their sound is homicidally distorted, a junkyard-assembled Econoline stalking the back roads from Chattanooga (their native turf) to Abilene, swerving and jerking as the bandmates fight over which 8-track to play next: John Lee Hooker, Led Zeppelin or Black Flag."
